Happy New Year, Everyone! We wish you a healthy 2015 and a rewarding year as a volunteer!
I was reading about New Year’s resolutions today and discovered that volunteering is the #1 of the top 10 resolutions people make each year. Unfortunately, I also discovered that it is also the #1 of the top 10 resolutions that people don’t keep, main reasons being time and money, yes in that order. I’ve always thought that money is the greatest issue, but it turns out that, rather, people have a harder time finding/taking the time to volunteer both abroad or locally. I thought about it some more and realized that they’re right, finding free time is not easy. When you’re a student, you have to work in the summer to be able to afford tuition, books, etc. for school. When you’re a working person, then you only get limited time off to volunteer if you plan on going during your vacation. Otherwise, you might have to take unpaid leave to go abroad, etc. The list goes on and on why it’s hard to find time to travel to another country to provide aid. As well, some people might just have a short period of time to go abroad to help out and they feel that it’s not worth the expenses because they couldn’t make enough of a difference in a short period of time.
Well, guess what, AIAV is here for you to help you make your volunteering dream come true without breaking the bank.
- Our low registration fee only expires once you’ve safely returned home from your journey. What does this mean? This means that whether you register 1 week or 2 years before your departure date, no worries about wasting that fee; there’s no time pressure. Surely, if you plan way ahead, you can somehow work it out to make it to one of our countries and change lives.
- If money is of worry to you, then again planning ahead is the key to success. With our free online fundraising tool, you can take the time to raise sufficient funds for your trip through social media with the help of your friends and family.
- If you feel you can’t make a great enough impact as a volunteer in a short period of time, just hear us out. You can, in fact, make a contribution to a program both directly and indirectly, no matter the length of time. Lending a helping hand in any way you’re capable is invaluable to any organization/person in need. Also, indirectly, your presence can draw attention to the program that you’re helping and open doors for them that were closed before. For example, more attention can lead to more funds from the government, which can lead to better facilities, which can be life-altering!
So, do not hesitate, reach out to us now to see how we can make your volunteering New Year’s resolution come true this year, or next!
