Service Trip to India
I have been accepted to volunteer abroad in Jaipur, India for two weeks, from April 27, 2016 to May 11, 2016. While in India, I will assist local health professionals at a hospital, and also participate in medical outreach activities in slums.
I’m very happy about this opportunity, as I will be shadowing doctors and nurses in their daily duties, and assisting patients in performing vital tasks they are not able to do by themselves. During medical camps in the slums and low-budget schools, I will be part of a team to encourage people to go for check-ups, give public education on health related issues, help conduct public surveys, etc.
This is not only going to be an opportunity for me to give back to a needy community, but an educative program to help me gain experience and familiarize myself with the health delivery system in a developing country. This I believe will broaden my horizon and prepare me for medical school in the near future.
In order for all of this to be possible, I have to fundraise $2500 to cover all travel expenses such as flight, vaccines, and travel insurance, as well as program fees to cover my food, shelter, and 24/7 support.
Any donations at all towards my service trip would be greatly appreciated and truly humbling. Every little bit counts! I hope you’ll aid me in bettering a part of the world.
Thank you so much for even just reading this and for all donations! 🙂
